Not a hotel anymore, it's now just a pub but a fantastic one at that.
Reading below it no longer trades as a hotel , bit sad really , stayed here a while whilst working around the area , rooms nice size comfortable and clean , i was always in room one , my work colleague was in room two adjacent , returned from our shift and work colleague pointed out to me lots of post-it notes over light switches , mirror , tv etc all saying please refrain from smoking in the room , although he was a smoker i could honestly say he never smoked in the room as it was winter time and he used to come back upstairs freezing after leaving premises to smoke , following week i had a different work colleague and again after returning from our shift he also had the no smoking post-it notes everywhere , this time tho the lad was a non smoker , turns out after a bit of investigation by us we found that the chimney from downstairs bar log burner was right outside bedroom two window and not to above so smoke from chimney was entering into room via window opened for fresh air during the day , told owner of this , cant mind his name but a tallish lad grey haired , he also done the breakfasts in morning , appart from that a wee gem of a place , shame to read its only a bar now if true.
